iPhone Apps That I Use

ecto-shot-tm.jpgThe following is a list of iPhone apps that I currently use. This list will be updated as I add and/or remove apps from my iPhone. I'm posting it because I know several people with iPhones and pointing them to this page when they ask "what apps are you using?" will be easier. They are presented in alphabetical order.

Any apps that require the iPhone to be jailbroken (hacked to allow apps that Apple has not approved) are clearly marked below.

Note that most of these apps are actually on my iPhone, but not all of them. Some are left uninstalled, but I either like them, or find them useful from time to time, and prefer to keep them in my iTunes library, but not installed on the device.

An AOL Instant Messenger client. (Free) AIM account required. Since this app only supports AIM accounts, I have only used it once, when I tested it out. I keep it in the list mainly because it's the official AOL IM client and was one of the first apps to be released for the iPhone. Palringo (also in this list) supports multiple chat services, and has a few extra features that make it a solid chat client.

Aqua Forest

» More Info

AstroTilt (formerly Jirbo Break)

Jirbo's version of the classic pong-style break-breaking game, with a slight twist. This is a solid game with all the features one would expect from a breakout clone. There are two modes of play, so the user can choose between moving the paddle from left to right on the screen via touch (my preferred method) or by tilting the device (accelerometer-based).
» More Info

Aurora Feint

A cross between an RPG and a puzzle game where you level up your skills as you complete the various puzzles. This is a solid puzzle game, but I really wouldn't consider it much of an RPG, unless you had a really imaginative mind. I still love it, though.
» More Info

Beer Bounce (Quarters)

The quarters-style drinking game. Over time, the game becomes harder if you miss shots and the screen starts to weave and blur. Great if you have a few minutes to kill and don't want to get overly involved in a game.

Billy Frontier

A 3D wild west game where you shoot things. Nice graphics.

A 3D game in which you play a grasshopper with various types of gameplay requiring the player to explore the game world and perform actions in order to move forward to the next level. great graphics. Supports multiple file types for opening and viewing files inside the app. Supports connections via Bonjour (Mac OS X), HTTP (any Web browser, Mac/Windows/Linux/etc), and FTP (any FTP software , Mac/Windows/Linux/etc). Zombie Invasion

A third-person shooter where the objective is to kill waves of zombies as they make their way toward you on the screen. The goal is to get a score high enough to make the global leader board. For zombie nuts like me, this game is fun, but it doesn't do much else other than allow you to shoot zombies with a few different weapons. I got it when it was free, but I wouldn't pay money for this app.
