NBC’s Tim Russert Dies of Heart Attack at 58

Tim Russert, NBC News’ Washington bureau chief and the moderator of “Meet the Press,” died Friday after suffering a heart attack at the bureau. He was 58.

I will certainly miss Tim Russert's classic brand of journalism. Keith Olberman put it best this evening, calling him "a partisan for the truth." There are few journalists left to whom the American people can turn for honest, thorough, non-biased, thought-provoking journalism in a world of ever-increasing half-truths, spin, and outright dishonesty. Our politicians should be made to fear the inquisition of our journalists, and Russert performed his duty well.

Russert is survived by his wife, Vanity Fair writer Maureen Orth, and their son, Luke, a recent graduate of Boston University.
